Requirements for adoption:

1. No GDROC Dane will be placed in a home which intends to house the Dane outside or currently
houses a dog outside.
2. Adopters must have a fenced in yard; invisible fences are not acceptable as the only means of
containing a GDROC Dane.
3. If the Dane to be adopted is under 2 years old, adopter must complete an obedience course
within 6 months of adoption and provide proof of this.
4. Adoption fees are 100% tax deductible. Danes under 1 year old are $350. Danes over 1 year old
are $300.

The Process:

Step 1: Fill out an adoption application and mail it to us. Click here or above.
Step 2: Our volunteers will check your references, and this may take a few days.
Step 3: A volunteer will call to schedule a home visit.
Step 4: Your application as well as home visit information will be reviewed and a decision will be
made as to whether you are an approved home or not and you will be notified of this decision.

If approved: Volunteers and foster families will help arrange visits between you and the Dane you
are interested in.

Please note: All applicants will be thoroughly screened and the information you provide in your
application will be verified.  We take the placement of our Danes very seriously.
