Care-A-Lot 7/17/05
| Well we had yet another VERY successful GDROC event today! We sold popcorn, had a raffle basket, and collected a whole lot of donations. All together, we raised $149 for the Danes today at Care-A-Lot. We also handed out a lot of flyers about the breed and our rescue. Today was our first event with our new t-shirts, so we all matched and we also got our official GDROC vinyl car decals today. We finally have a custom tablecloth as well which looks very nice! Thanks to: ~Linda Boyd who stayed the entire day to help us out and her twins, handsome Doogie and the beautiful Miss Gretchen who stayed most of the day, but had to have their daddy to come rescue them and take them back to the AC (LOL) ~Bill and Patty Bills and their daughter Brandi who stayed the entire day and helped sell that popcorn and generate interest in our raffle ~Andrea Kral who also stayed the entire day and contributed all the literature about the breed and our rescue ~Tim and Melissa Startley who came to help out after church. They both helped with the raffle and the popcorn stand ~John Ciely who brought his buddy Blitz, who was an excellent boy all day long. Linda we missed you! ~Karen Meads who ran the popcorn stand and made the beautiful tablecloth. She did a fantastic job! ~Ronnie and Shannon who came out with their sweet puppy Dunder who is now 7 months old. Good Lord they must be feeding him miracle grow or something the way he is growing! He's a BIG puppy! ~Tiffany and Alan Below who came out with Miss Storm and baby Ethan. Storm is such a beautiful girl! ~Wendy Settlemire, her girls and Leahla who was a well behaved girl today. Miss Leahla has improved tremendously on her social skills! ~Mr. Oz who stayed all day and didn’t complain once about the heat!! Thanks to everyone who came out and contributed their efforts on this hot, sticky day! Also, thank you to Kelly, one of the managers at Care-A-Lot, who was most kind in hosing the dogs off out back to cool them down and allowing us to sell popcorn today! Our monthly meeting this evening also went very well and we had record attendance! Our group is growing rapidly, let's keep this up! Kathy, David and Jennifer |
