Dudley is a handsome 8-month-old Merle dane with Natural ears. He currently weighs 105lbs
but is still growing and will surely grow into a big boy - his breeder expected him to grow to
160+lbs. He was surrendered to the rescue by his family who could no longer care for him
due to health reasons. Dudley previously lived with two young children (8 and 10) and was
neighborhood friends with many small dogs. Currently he lives with his foster brothers - a
Great Dane and a cat. He is very interested in the cat, and tries his hardest to get the cat to be
near each other. He is very submissive and has not shown any dominance or aggression - he is
even submissive to the cat! He is very playful and FULL of puppy energy. He LOVES to go
on walks and is learning quickly how to walk without pulling on a leash.
Dudley has a very expressive face and is full of love. In his previous home he was able to stay
home all day with one of his owners; in his foster home he is being crated during the day and is
doing well. He is a joy to come home to at the end of a work day and is so loving when you
let him out of his crate. A typical puppy, Dudley is always looking for something to get into
and loves all things paper - tissues, paper towels, etc. You do need to keep on eye on this
because he is still getting over his mouthy phase and still likes to put everything in his mouth.
Dudley is a very quick learner, and he is learning basic obedience. He has learned how to sit
and wait for his food until you tell him "OK" and is learning how to sit down to get his leash on
and also how to stay back from the front door when you open it. He's one smart puppy!
Dudley is excited to meet new human friends around the neighborhood but does get excited
when he sees other dogs or bike riders.
Dudley is a fun-loving guy and after 20 minutes of play will flop down and sleep at your feet.
He loves to play with stuffed animals and his favorite treat is ice chips (of course he does find
it hard to resist any food left on the counter!). Dudley is very easy-going and adaptable, and
will surely make a great addition to your home!
