We need
Foster
Families!
The Rainbow  Bridge
Alley came to us 4 1/2 years ago.  She was found roaming the our first foster
failure as we were only supposed to foster her and lo and behold, we couldn't
imagine life without her so we adopted.  Alley could run faster than any Dane I
have ever seen and though she had some nerve damage that caused her legs to
shake when standing still, she loved running rings around the backyard.  She
often looked like she was walking or running in high heels.  She was a very
feminine girl and thus we started to call her Miss Alley.  Alley was our dinner bell,
as she was the one that would let us know that it was time to eat dinner.  As soon
as it was 5:00 she knew it was time for dinner and would "talk" until she was fed.
Miss Alley had a special affection for Troy.  She will be missed by both of us, as
she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 12, 2005

Leahla Settlemire
2004 (your forever home) to 2005 (Rainbow Bridge)

Loved very much.
Effortlessly loved us back.
A wonderful addition to our family.
Heartache both past and present.
Lived for the love of her family.
At least had one good year with her forever family who loved
her very much.

Leahla you will forever be in our hearts but will be sadly
missed here on earth.  Now you can be in peace without the
horrendous scars from your past.

You rest in peace my Leahlalu, momma's girl..
Love,
Your momma and the rest of your forever family.
This little guy was born November 18th, 2005 and passed away the next
evening.  He was born without a placenta around him and was covered in
green slime.  We suctioned him out and got his heart beating strong, but
unfortunately he was not able to maintain his body heat or nurse properly.
He was tube fed and kept extra warm, but unfortunately his little body was
just too frail.

Rest in peace Tiny Tim, we love you!

Tiny Tim
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There
is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and
strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for
one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.. His bright eyes are intent,
his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster
and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted
again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting
eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together....

Max was a first for our little homegrown group. Soon after we took
Max in, we found out that he had terminal cancer. We were all
devastated to say the least. His foster parents graciously stepped
up and promised to take care of him until his final days. Needless
to say this wonderful boy was spoiled rotten. He ate like a king
and was treated with the love only deserving of such a fine boy.
Max was cool. Anybody who met him loved him and he loved them
back just the same. It's a shame that he had to leave us so soon.
He was a wonderful dog and will be dearly missed.
Thank you Max for enriching the lives of all those you met.

Thumper was a very special Dane.  After several
veterinary consultations, she was diagnosed with
autoimmune hemolytic anemia.  Her foster parents made
many trips to the clinic for testing and weigh-ins.  She was
in a loving home with other dogs and treated like a real
princess.  Thumper will be missed very much.

Haas
Brooklyn
Teo was adopted from rescue in 2006.  He spent the last
4-1/2 years of his life being the center of attention in a loving
family.  He was the "grandpa" of our rescue and everyone
loved to come see his huge feet.

Teo, you are very much missed!  It was an honor having you
in our family.
Brooklyn was a rescue Dane along with her brother and
both were part of a large loving family of Danes.
Brooklyn was diagnosed with bone cancer this year (her
brother had passed of the same thing a few years ago)
and passed away at the age of 8.  She will be missed
very much.
Haas was a fairly recent rescue for our organization.  He was
taken in with a broken leg as a puppy, which healed nicely.
Unfortunately, Haas then was discovered to have some
congenital bone/joint issues.  His condition deteriorated over the
past few months and he passed away recently.  He was almost 2
years old.  But for such a short life, Haas was loved very much
by his family and will be greatly missed.
