Baby
(Layla)
Update 10/27/08

Baby is doing fantastic.  She is so happy now.  She cannot hold in her exuberance and loves to
zoom around the yard.  Unfortunately her increased activity is causing her leg to swell so now we
are only letting her out on a leash to be able to control her zooming through the yard.  She is very
attached to the staff at the clinic and loves to cuddle.  She's a lap sitter and unlike when she first
came in, she now wants to be loved on and petted constantly.  She is a great dog, does not mess in
her kennel and lets us know when she needs to go out.  She is now at a healthy weight and will be
spayed shortly.  Her leg is healing slowly but surely.  I am not sure if she'll ever get her hair back  but
her personality greatly outshines her appearance.  She is not food aggressive and we are working
on teaching her manners/social skills with other dogs.  She's super sweet and just loves to be with
people.

Update:  11/14/08  Baby is now enjoying life in her foster home.  She has been there for about a
week and is doing great!  Her leg is still in the healing process, but she is receiving lots of attention
and fun belly rubs!

Update 12/15/08:  Baby is still recovering from her wound and broken leg.  Recent x-rays revealed
she may need some debridement surgery for bone fragments that are separating.  Her foster family
is taking great care of her.

Update 3/6/09:  Baby is still under medical treatment after 5 months of therapy and care.  Her leg
wound finally looks like it is closing up.  She is loving all the attention she gets in her foster home.
