Toby is a huge, sweet, lover! He is approximately 5
years old and weighs in at 158 pounds.
He is crate trained and loves to sleep in his crate
even when out at home. If you have a pile of sheets
or blankets on the floor for any reason he will also
claim that as his resting place until he is told to move.
When it is bed time Toby goes with his foster parents
to the bed room, curls up on his dog bed and sleeps
until morning. He does not get on furniture or the bed
and does not counter surf. He will walk by and check
out the food on the counter but has NEVER helped
himself.
Toby LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to go for a walk and
ride. He is only good for about a 3/4 mile before he
is ready to head home. Toby walks nicely on a leash.
He has met several dogs at the ball field and vets
office and has paid them no mind. Toby loves his
treats! If he sees you get them, he hops around like a
gets excited he also gets a chatter chin. He is full of
personality and everyday more and more comes out.
His favorite place to stand of course is right in front of
us so we can't see the TV, and will moan until we pet
him. Toby has no food aggression what so every.
Toby knows some basic commands, sit, down and
shake but has not mastered stay. We are working on
that. Toby is just a big old lug with tons of love to
give!
Update: 12/31/2011
Toby is doing great! He now smiles when we come
home. When we come through the door he runs in
circles smiling waiting for his turn for lovin'. He also
has a mind of his own. He loves to go... walk, ride
whatever. He is very much a home body. Wherever
we move he moves. He is a sweet, sweet, boy and
gives out lots of kisses. He has decided the couch is
his. He sleeps downstairs on the couch and comes
upstairs some mornings and hangs out in the
bathroom while I get dressed. He does not like to
stay outside. Toby is so funny because he goes out
does his business gives it two big kicks, pauses and
runs full speed to the door to come in every time. It's
his silly routine, He paws at the door lightly to go out
and come in. He also paws at the pantry door when
he decides he needs a treat and if it is past dinner
time. His tummy is definitely on a time schedule.
