Zeus is a 4-year-old black male Great Dane.  He
has natural ears and is a big boy, weighing in the
130s.

He is very sweet.  Zeus is learning some
obedience.  He can sit, lie down, and sit and wait
for his meals.

Zeus is blind in one eye due to an injury when he
was much younger.  The eye specialist said he
cannot see, but it does not affect his personality
and is not painful to him.

Taking walks is one of Zeus's favorite things to
do.  He is learning leash manners.  He also does not
seem to mind getting a bath.  He does like to play
with stuffed squeaky toys.

He gets along with the Dane and greyhound in his
foster home and played well when we had a play
date with another Dane.  He gets along well with
the kids.  We are working on his car manners.  He
wants to sit in your lap and gets very excited.  He
has shown some improvement with each ride.  He is
pretty laid back but at times shows real puppy
exuberance and is very agile for his 130lbs.

Back in November, Zeus had a swollen front leg.
We sent him for x-rays and the original diagnosis
was bone cancer.  Well, over time he got better,
not worse, and we sent him back for another x-ray
on March 7.  The physical findings plus the x-ray
confirmed that he likely DOES NOT have bone
cancer, but instead possibly has osteomyelitis, or
inflammation of the bone.  The original leg swelling
has been gone for over 4 months and he does not
limp, does not favor the leg, and is a happy playful
boy!
