Did you know that large black dogs are often the last to be adopted from shelters and rescue organizations? We assure you that color has nothing to do with the personality of the dogs. Here is a wonderful video on You Tube created to explain Black Dog Syndrome.

If you are interested in adopting, please go ahead and put in an application. Once you pass the application and
house check, if approved to adopt, you will already be one step ahead. We highly recommend getting approved
before you find a Dane of interest. Many times that Dane may already have 2-3 families with applications on
him/her. We try to match each Great Dane with the best approved family.
If you are looking for something specific - i.e., male/female, age, etc. you can include that with your application.
Emma is a new rescue who came to GDROC in mid-June. She is a young female Dane,
mostly black, with natural ears. Right now, Emma is doing well in her foster home and
very much enjoys playing with her foster sister Dane and 2 dalmatians that also live
there.
Emma was spayed this week and will be ready for adoption after her 10-day recovery
period.

color, with natural ears. She is also a new rescue
from mid-June. Charley has already been spayed
and is ready for adoption! She is settling into her
new foster home and playing with her foster
brother Dane. Charley is full of puppy energy.
