If you are interested in adopting, please go ahead and put in an application. Once you pass the application and
house check, if approved to adopt, you will already be one step ahead. We highly recommend getting approved
before you find a Dane of interest. Many times that Dane may already have 2-3 families with applications on
him/her. We try to match each Great Dane with the best approved family.
If you are looking for something specific - i.e., male/female, age, etc. you can include that with your application.
Ingrid came to rescue in mid-November. She is a 2-year-old blue spayed female with natural ears. Ingrid
is very sweet and gets along well with all other dogs. She is very good with children, and was originally living
with a 3-year-old. She is crate trained. Ingrid is extremely willing to please and listens well. She loves to
play and loves her toys/bones.
She has learned to fit into the pack with her foster Dane brother and two Dane sisters, and does not have
an aggressive bone in her body. Ingrid does not want or need to be alpha. She is submissive and gentle, but
puppy-like, full of energy, and very curious about everything. She would do very well in a home with another
dog but she does know how to entertain herself with her toys. Ingrid would probably do best in a family
where someone is home a lot. She is a pleasure to foster and will be a joy to any family who adopts her.
Athena is a spry, white, 8-year-old Great Dane with some black markings. She is as bright as
her vivid blue eyes, and as sharp as her pointy, cropped ears. Athena loves to greet her people
at the door when they come home.
Toys, treats, and meeting new people are some of her favorite things. She also enjoys long
walks, and is generally well-mannered on a leash. Indoors, Athena is usually content to curl up
on a favorite bed, or in her favorite chair and snooze, but don't be surprised if she comes to
find you every now and then to give a little kiss, or to get a little attention.
Another Great Dane coming soon.
